Dear Members and Friends;

We hope you are in good health. Thank you for your participation/support to our Autumn Higan Service held on Sunday, September 19th. Juya Service, the special Nembutsu service in winter, is observed as posted above. Juya Service will feature the following prayers/ritual:

Mizuko Kuyo:In preparation for a special memorial tablet, please contact us by 11/12/21 (Fri).

Jobon Kuyo (symbolic cremation of religious items):Please bring or send old religious items such as old Bon/Segaki memorial tablets (toba, o-fuda) offered in previous years and amulets (o-mamori) by Sunday, November 14th.

Shichi-go-san & Hatsumairi:Please return the attached application by 11/12/21 (Fri).

Following the California COVID-19 guidelines, we will prepare an individually packaged lunchbox for attendees. To better prepare for the service, we would like to ask those who wish to attend in-person to cooperate by observing the following guidelines.

  • Wearing an appropriate face-covering and observing social distancing from other congregants.
  • Using hand-sanitizers often (hand-sanitizers are provided at all areas of the temple).
  • Not visiting the temple if you have a fever, cough, sore throat, and/or other symptoms of bad health.


We pray with Nembutsu for the health and safety of our congregation. We are looking forward to seeing you at Juya Service. Namu Amida Butsu

  • As is customary, we would like to ask for donations/offerings on this occasion. Your donations will be acknowledged and we will extend a prayer for your loved ones/ancestors in the service. Flowers/fruit offerings to the altar are appreciated. Delivery of flower/offerings will also be accepted.
  • For those who have family memorial tablets and urns at the IHAI NOKOTSU-DO at the temple, please visit and offer flower/food offerings to your loved ones. Delivery of flower/offerings will also be accepted.
