Bon Segaki Service pays tribute annually to the deceased individually by offering a memorial tablet (toba) to extend a special prayer. The Obon in summer is a period during the year when the spirit of our loved ones, who reside in the Pure Land of Amida Buddha, return to visit us in this world. Let us make this religious gathering a precious opportunity to practice our faith through toba offering, incense offering and recitations of “Namu Amida Butsu”. We will also offer a special prayer for unborn/newborn/early deceased children combining with annual prayer for our ancestors.

If you wish a prayer with toba offering, please fill out the form attached and returning it to the temple office by Friday, July 8, 2022.

• Please allow time delay for physical mail delivery.
• Prayer application via phone/Email is also available.
• For those who cannot attend the service, memorial tablet (toba) can be sent via mail.

• As is customary, we would like to ask for monetary offerings on this occasion.
  Your donations will be acknowledged in the service.
• Rice Offering to the altar is appreciated.
• Memorial Tablet (toba) will be mailed afterwards to those who you cannot attend the service.
• Please bring old memorial tablets to the temple and enshrine new tablets at your home altar.
• For those who have family memorial tablets and urns at the IHAI NOKOTSU-DO at the temple, please visit and offer flowers/food offerings to your loved ones. Delivery of flowers/offerings will also be accepted.
